In-Person Shopping

The West Seattle Food Bank distributes food, pet food and other items to community members in need.

We offer a shopping style distribution where shoppers pick out their own items from the shelves, produce area, freezer and cooler.  This gives shoppers an opportunity to make their own choices, especially helpful for cultural or dietary needs.

Anyone can come to the food bank to get food in person. We do not restrict service by zip code or require proof of income/need.

Shoppers are welcome to come more than once in a week for non-perishable items and fresh produce. Meat, dairy, and specialty items are limited to once per week.

Mobile Food Bank

The West Seattle Food Bank established its Mobile Food Bank off-site distribution and expanded to multiple residential locations that are home to the elderly, disabled or individuals not able to make it to the food bank.

Home Delivery

Serving These Zip Codes: 98106, 98116, 98126, 98136

We continue our Home Delivery service to households that do not reside at one of our Mobile Food Bank sites. Bags of groceries are delivered directly to their homes weekly by our incredible volunteer drivers.

For access to a larger amount of food with a better selection we encourage clients to first try to arrange for a family member or neighbor to pick up their food for them from the food bank.

If you live in a zip code we serve and cannot come to the Food Bank because of a disability give us a call at 206-932-9023.

Backpack Program

The West Seattle Food Bank’s Backpack Program provides bags of nutritious, kid-friendly food to students who have been identified with weekend food insecurity. Each week during the school year, we partner with local schools to send home shelf-stable, easy-to-prepare foods that help bridge the gap between Friday lunch and Monday breakfast.

For many families, weekends can be the hardest time to access consistent meals. The Backpack Program ensures children return to school on Monday nourished and ready to learn.

In fiscal year 2026, we distributed nearly 18,000 weekend food packs to students across 13 local West Seattle schools — a 100% increase from fiscal year 2024.

Pet Pantry

Our Pet Pantry distributes 25,000+ pounds of donated pet food and other accessories to families who need help taking care of their furry friends.

Thank you to our generous donors:
Seattle Humane, Lien Animal Clinic, Mud Bay, Next to Nature, Petco, Pet Supplies Plus, Addy’s Pet Shop, and West Seattle Animal Hospital

In addition to bags and cans of dog or cat food, we accept opened dry pet food.

Funding for this program is supported in part by the City of Seattle Sweetened Beverage Tax.
